INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

1. Latar belakang program
Knowledge and skill in the field of research and development (R&D) has become increasily necessary for school students to be exposed as the nation gears up towards achieving vision 2020. Due to this concern, activities in the form of competition in science related subjects such as the National Science Challenge has been widely introduced and implemented nationwide to assist the nation in achieving this challenging mission as the importance of training the young generation starting from school level become a national agenda.

2. Objektif Program
(a) To encourage students to participate in national competition related to science and research.
(b) To educate and expose students on how to conduct science research
(c) To expose students with current information on research and development
(d) To promote strong interest in students towards science subject via direct communicative experience with outstanding scientist and researcher through lectures and hands-on activities.
(e) To give students opportunity to interact with researcher and scientist who are vastly experience in the field of research and development.

3. Rasional / justifikasi program
(a) Sharing the common realization of the importance of exposing and educating young children from school age level towards research and development (R&D) programme, The Academy Sciences of Malaysia cooperate with Sekolah Menengah Sains Muzaffar Syah work together to organized this Introduction to Research and Development Workshop.
(b) Equip with a strong network of outstanding researcher and scientist nationwide in the field of science particularly in research and development (R&D) as well as vast experience in conducting science education programme, the organization of this workshop is hope not only to asist and educate the participants to be more aware of the importance of knowledge in the field or research and development (R&D) but also in contributing towards the development of human capital experts in the field of Science Technology Innovation.

- Ceramah daripada Dr Shukri
- Pelajar dibahagi kepada kumpulan
- Brainstorming idea projek
- Pembentangan kumpulan mengenai projek dan penilaian daripada Dr Shukri

12. Keputusan/pencapaian
Bengkel berjaya dilaksanakan. Majlis penutup disempurnakan oleh tuan Pengetua.

13. Refleksi/impak keseluruhan program
Pelajar memberi respons yang positif tentang bengkel ini. Berazam untuk laksanakan satu projek reka cipta.

14. Cadangan
Penceramah perlu memberi contoh-contoh kajian saintifik di peringkat sekolah menengah.
Lebih banyakkan lagi sesi aktiviti kumpulan supaya pelajar tidak jemu.
